Dr. Abdulazeem Abozaid
Dr. Abdulazeem holds PhD and Master in Islamic financial law. He also holds three BAs in Islamic law, Arabic language and English Literature as well as two higher studies diplomas in Islamic law and Human sciences
He has served in several Islamic banking institutions as Shari’ah expert, trainer and Shari’ah head.
He has extensive teaching experience as a lecturer at Damascus University since 1998. He has also taught Islamic financial law at International Islamic University Malaysia. He regularly conducts workshops and training courses in Islamic banks, financial institutions, and universities.
Dr. Abdulazeem’s research work has been published in various international journals and newspapers and he has presented more than 50 papers at international conferences. His expertise in Islamic Finance is demonstrated by his release of more than 60 publications in Islamic finance. At present he is associated with Qatar Foundation as associate professor at their Islamic Finance Program.

Her distinct professional expertise and invaluable contribution to the promotion of the global Islamic finance industry particularly in EMEA, APAC, CIS and North America are an inspiration for women aspiring to venture into Islamic finance.
She is a qualified Barrister and works with leading Queen’s Counsel, Barristers, Forensic Experts and Senior Partners of Law Firms on High Profile Complex Cross-Border Multi-Billion Dollar Fraud Cases. She is also a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, UK.
She has the honour to be the first female Director Technical and Corporate Development of the AAOIFI where she worked with Board Members (including Senior Partners of Big 4, Leading Lawyers, Representatives of Multilateral Development Banks, Central Banks, Commercial Banks and National Accounting Standards Boards) for the development of Accounting, Auditing and Governance Standards.
She has served as Senior Vice President and In-House Legal Counsel of banks, Former Judge, and a Senior Consultant at an International Islamic Finance Consultancy having offices in UK and UAE.
She has authored technical legal write-ups on a number of Islamic financial products for Thomson Reuters which were published on Zawya (MENA region-specific Online Knowledge Platform) and Practical Law Company (UK-based Online Knowledge Platform offering rigorous peer-reviewed and expertly authored legal solutions).
She has been a Research Fellow at Harvard Law School and a Visiting Researcher at International Shariah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA) Malaysia. In addition, her research papers on Islamic finance have been published in 8th and 9th Harvard University Islamic Finance Forum Proceedings.
She is also among the first batch of graduates of Certified Islamic Professional Accountants (CIPA) and the first Pakistani female who earned this certification.
She has been awarded several scholarships and research grants from leading institutions of UK, USA and Malaysia, including a scholarship from Bangor University (UK) where she completed her Doctorate in Law focusing on the accommodation of Islamic financial products under English legal and regulatory framework.
